Which Procore tools support Work Breakdown Structure?

Procore's Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) provides teams with greater flexibility and more granularity using custom segments to create your company or project budget codes. In addition to the default paradigm of cost code, cost type, and sub-job (optional), you can create up to ten (10) custom segments and arrange those segments (in any order that you want) to form your budget code structure. You can also name your segments anything you like. To learn more, see Work Breakdown Structure. 

The following Procore tools, platforms, and integrations support the Work Breakdown Structure feature. 

Supported Company Level Tools

These Company level tools support Procore's Work Breakdown Structure.

Reports Cost code, cost type, and sub job reporting using project-level source data from Procore's Project Financials tools in custom project reports.

Commitments Creating and editing line items on a commitment, change order, or invoice Schedule of Values (SOV) using project-level budget codes.
Direct Costs Creating and editing line items using project-level budget codes for a direct cost. 
Funding 2 Creating and editing line items on a funding, change order, or invoice Schedule of Values (SOV) using budget codes.
Invoicing Accessing line items on an invoice's Schedule of Values (SOV) using project-level budget codes.
  • The Invoicing tool is used to gain access to these items:
    • The downstream invoices created in the Project level Commitments tool. 
    • The upstream invoices created in the Project level Client Contracts1, Funding 2, or Prime Contracts tool. 
Prime Contracts Creating and editing line items on a contract, change order, or invoice Schedule of Values (SOV) using project-level budget codes.
Progress Billings Accessing line items on an invoice's Schedule of Values (SOV) using project-level budget codes.
  • This tool is used to gain access to the invoices created in a project's Commitments, Funding, or Prime Contracts tools.

Limitations

  • For customers using Procore's Field Productivity tools
    The default segments in WBS are compatible with icon-external-link.png Field Productivity. Custom segments are NOT yet supported. To learn more, see Why can't I create WBS custom segments?
  • For customers using the Company level ERP Integrations tool
    The default segments in WBS are compatible with Procore's ERP Integrations tool. However, some integrations do NOT yet support custom segments. To learn more, see Things to Know about your ERP Integration.
  • For customers who have independently developed or purchased a third-party solution to integrate with Procore
    To take advantage of the custom segment capabilities associated with WBS, any existing API integrations that you have independently developed or purchased to interact with Procore must be updated to support Procore's new WBS API.
