Edit a Submittal

Objective

To edit an existing submittal using the project's Submittals tool. 

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions:
    • To edit an 'Draft' or 'Open' submittal that you created:
      • 'Read Only' or 'Standard' level permissions on the project's Submittals tool with the 'Create Submittal' granular permission enabled on your permissions template.
        OR
      • 'Standard' level permissions on the project's Submittals tool without a permissions template assigned to you.
    • To edit a submittal that you did not create: 
      • 'Standard' level permissions on the project's Submittals tool and designated as the Submittal Manager.
    • To edit any submittal:
      • 'Admin' level permissions on the project's Submittals tool.
    • To edit a 'Closed' submittal:
      • 'Admin' level permissions on the project's Submittals tool.
      • If you have 'Standard' level permissions and are designated as the Submittal Manager for an individual item, you can edit that item while it is in a 'Closed' status. However, you cannot update the status of the item.
  • Additional Information:
    • Users without 'Admin' level permissions on the project's Submittals tool cannot change the status of a submittal.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the project's Submittals tool.
  2. Locate the submittal to edit. See Search and Filter Submittals.
  3. Click Edit
  4. Update the information as you want:
  5. Do the following:
    • Click Update to save changes without sending an email notification. 
      OR
    • Click Update & Send Emails to save changes and send an email notification to members of the submittal workflow and distribution list.
