Building Information Modeling Resources

On this page, you'll find resources for teaching Building Information Modeling using your Procore account. Alternatively, your students can login to a special demo account we've created to play a BIM scavenger hunt (see "BIM Interactive Activity" section below).

RESOURCES FOR BUILDING INFORMATION MODELING (REQUIRES YOUR OWN PROCORE ACCOUNT)

Procore's BIM tools are comprised of the Models tool and the Coordination Issues tool. The Models tool allows you to publish Navisworks files to Procore, where you can navigate the model in 3D. The Coordination Issues tool allows you to create and manage coordination issues directly on your model (works with Revit). Note that you must be running the Procore plugin for Navisworks and/or Revit (here are the pages where you download the Models Plugin and the Revit plugin). See the "Working with BIM in Procore" section below.

Vortex Business Center Sample BIM Model
We've created a sample 3D model (comprised of several Navisworks files) that you can use with your Procore account. Click the link below and save the zipped file. You can then upload the file to your Navisworks account, install the Procore Plugin for Navisworks, and publish your model following these steps. If you do not have a Navisworks account, but would still like to utilize the sample model in your Procore account, please reach out to us.

INTERACTIVE BIM ACTIVITY (DOES NOT REQUIRE YOUR OWN PROCORE ACCOUNT)

Access a special Procore demo account to go on a Building Information Modeling Treasure Hunt where students navigate a 3D model to find locations and information about details of particular objects in the model. Students can use computers or iPads/iPhones to play this activity (no Google Android device functionality at this time). Here are instructions for how to access the BIM Treasure Hunt activities:

  1. Students/instructors will login to Procore at https://login.procore.com/ on a computer, or download the free Procore Mobile App on the Apple App Store and open it.
  2. Enter email address: learn@procore.com and password: #1ProcoreStudent (case sensitive).
  3. Select the "BIM Treasure Hunt" project.
  4. Click on the Documents Tool to download the activity sheet questions, and then select the Models Tool to enter the model and navigate it in order to answer the questions. Check your answers using the activity sheet answers found in the Documents Tool.
