cmBuilder Startup Tutorial

Objective:

Provide basic steps and linked videos for self learning how to use cmBuilder and develop a logistics plan.

In addition this guide will also reference procedures for Drone Deploy and Procore for multiple functions.

Things to Consider

• cmBuilder is always updating, so things may move around; refer to online tutorial videos for latest content from cmBuilder
• If there are design models and drone data, this will need to be imported by a Strategic Services member by emailing techserv@kastbuild.com

Prerequisites

• Access to cmBuilder (email jmcdermott@kastbuild.com)

Best Practices

• Request design Architecture and Structure models from the design or client, but proceed without unless provided as they can be added later.
• Submit Drone request 4-6 weeks in advance of needing deliverables and coordinate with drones@kastbuild.com.
  • Fly surrounding area of the project (especially if in urban area) by a 3^rd party pilot
• Schedule a review meeting with the assigned VDC staff and conduct 3D planning session
  • VDC Manager will create the project in cmBuilder, import any design models and drone data if available
• The cmBuilder model can be embedded in Procore, email procorehelp@kastbuild.com to set this up
