Objective

Creating a generic massing model in 3D which can be used for new or existing buildings.

Create 3D Massing

If your project does not have design models, you can create representations of buildings and 3D objects using the cmBuilder Massing tool. For a video tutorial on Massing, click here.

To create your initial massing model:

  1. Click on “Buildings” and then “Massing”

  1. Draw your massing profile:
    • Use the Sketch Tools to draw the desired profile (at least 3 points).
    • Once the profile is complete, click Confirm.

  1. Massing setup:
    • Set the desired number of stories and story height. The massing will automatically appear in the scene.
      • Ensure that the story height is greater than 0.
      • As you add stories, they will show up in the scene.
    • You can also customize the color of the entire massing.

If you need to modify the massing sketch during creation, click Edit Sketch.

Once satisfied with the massing, click Confirm to finalize your changes.
