Delete Spec Sections from the Admin Tool

Objective

To delete project spec section number and descriptions from the Admin tool.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions: 'Admin' level permissions on the project's Admin tool.
  • You can only delete spec section if they are not linked to existing items. If you wish to delete a spec section that is referenced on an item in Procore, follow the steps below.
    1. Attempt to delete the spec section by following the directions below.
    2. Click the links to the items in the error message to bring you to the view page of each item.


       
    3. Click Edit next to the item.
    4. Remove the spec section number and description reference from the item by deleting it or changing it to a more appropriate section.
    5. Click Update.
    6. Navigate back to the Spec Sections sub tab in the Admin tool.
    7. Delete the item by following the directions below.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the project's Admin tool.
  2. Click the Spec Sections sub tab from the list of Project Settings in the right pane.
  3. Mark the checkbox next to each spec section number and description you wish to delete.
  4. Click the red X at the top of the table.
    • Note: the red icon next to the check box will not delete the item.


       
  5. Confirm the deletion.
