Submittals: New! Integrated PDF Markup for Submittal Attachments

Customer success with our tools is our top priority. Accordingly, we have decided to roll back the release of the Submittal Markup feature in order to make some enhancements. These changes are based on customer feedback and will result in improved usability. We expect to reintroduce this feature shortly. In the interim, users who click on an attachment will be taken to a read-only viewer.

Feature Announced: Tuesday, April 16, 2019
Feature Released to Sandbox Projects: April 22, 2019
Feature Released to Production: May 13, 2019

Submittals: Integrated PDF Markup for Submittal Attachments

Procore has redesigned the attachment viewer in the project's Submittals tool to provide users with enhanced markup capabilities. Prior to this update, users who wanted to apply markups to an attachment were required to download the attached file, open it a third-party markup program (i.e., Adobe® Acrobat® or Bluebeam® Studio), and then upload the revision with the markup to a submittal.

With this new feature, users who are in the submittal's workflow (or users who have been granted 'Admin' level permission on the project's Submittals tool), will have the ability to add markup and stamp submittals in Procore.

Why is this important?

In response to user feedback, this feature also provides the following features and benefits:

  • Ability to upload a customizable company stamp. Users can now upload and apply your company's official stamp to shop drawings and other PDF attachments.
  • Ability to add a blank page to the PDF Document. Users can now insert a blank page to the beginning of the PDF document for adding comments and stamps.
  • Eliminate unwanted extra PDF download/upload steps. Users no longer have to take extra steps of downloading files in order to add markups.
  • Single source of information. Users can see the most current changes to the attachment via our new Attachment Manager to ensure the project team is working off the same document.
