Which fields can Procore automatically populate when uploading drawings?

No headers

When you upload new drawings to a project, Procore can automatically pre-populate the following fields to help expedite the upload and review process.

  • Drawing Number
  • Drawing Discipline
  • Drawing Title

Procore leverages Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to intelligently discover and pre-fill these fields with the correct value based upon the title block (for the title), the number on the drawing (for the number), and that drawing number's letter prefix (for the discipline).

For example, if you upload a PDF with 'A1.2' as its drawing number and "FLOOR PLAN" as the title, Procore will automatically recognize each of those fields, fill the number in the number field, the title in the Title field, and use the prefix of the number to pre-populate the "Discipline" field with "Architecture".

If you correct an auto-filled value, you will be prompted to have the system reevaluate the remaining drawings where it will dynamically re-adjust its auto-detection algorithm accordingly.
