How do permissions work for Analytics 2.0 (Beta)?

 In Beta
Existing Analytics customers can now participate in the Open Beta for Procore Analytics 2.0. Please reach out to your Procore point of contact to learn more. See About Procore Analytics 2.0 for more details.

Background

Access to Procore Analytics is linked to your Procore login credentials, which allows you to generate a single token. This token can be used to access data from multiple companies if your Procore login has permission to do so. If you have access to Procore Analytics in several companies, your token will allow you to pull data from all of them. The token is tied to you, not to a specific company, so it remains the same across all companies you have access to.

Answer

The Procore Analytics tool has to be activated for each company the user has access to by accepting the open beta agreement (during the current open beta phase). This enables both the Company tool menu and the token generation page in your user settings. Once Procore Analytics moves to general availability, the tool will be activated for all Procore admins upon purchase.

A user has to be given at least a read only role to the Procore Analytics tool, except for Company and Project Admins who will be granted an Admin role by default. The following user access levels are permitted for the Procore Analytics tool:

  • None: No access to Procore Analytics data.
  • Read Only (Coming Soon during GA): Has access to the tool and project data the user has access permissions to in Procore.
  • Admin: Has full access permissions to data for all tools and projects (except certain data marked as private such as correspondence data).

Granting Access

Access must be explicitly given to new tools for the user to be able to view the tool's data in Procore.
Note: Users with Admin level permissions on the Company level Directory tool do not need explicit project permissions to view data in Procore Analytics.

There are two ways to assign permissions to individual users:

Revoking Access

Access to specific tool and project data in the Procore Analytics tool will be revoked when the corresponding tool and project permissions are removed from a user’s. When a user’s contact record becomes inactive, the user will lose access to Procore Analytics data.
