 Limited Release
flag-us.png flag-canada.png The Funding tool is available to Procore customers in the United States who have implemented the Procore for Owners point-of-view dictionary. To learn more see, What dictionaries and languages are available in the Procore web application?

Objective

To configure the number of change order tiers for the project's Funding tool.

Background

When you initially set up the project's Funding tool, you can choose to set a 1-tier, 2-tier-, or 3-tier change order configuration setting on the Funding tool. See What are the different change order tier settings in Project Financials? This setting determines how many steps are required to manage change orders on a Procore project in your environment. Always configure this setting before users create new Funding Change Orders (FCOs) on the project. This setting cannot be changed once a change order is created.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions:
    • 'Admin' level permissions on the project's Funding tool.
  • Additional Information:
    • This setting MUST be set configured before creating the first FCO on the project.
    • If you do NOT specify a setting, Procore's default setting is the two (2) tier configuration.
    • You are NOT permitted to change this setting after the first FCO is created.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the project's Funding tool.
  2. Click the Configure Settings icons-settings-gear.png icon.
  3. Select one (1) of these options from the Number of Funding Change Order Tiers drop-down list:
     Important
This setting cannot be changed after the first change order is created on the project.

    • 1-Tier (One-tier, a.k.a. 'single-tier')
Users only need to create a FCO when there is a change on a funding. The FCO can then be sent to the appropriate project users for approval.
    • 2-Tier (Two-tier)
This is the default setting. With two (2) tiers, your project users create one (1) or more Funding Potential Change Orders (PCOs). PCOs are then grouped into a FCO, and sent to the appropriate project team members for approval.
       Notes
      • A three (3) tier change order configuration is also available. To learn more, see What are the different change order tier settings in Project Financials?
      • If your company or project billing process does NOT require you to group all of the approved change orders for the month into a single, combined change order for final signature, Procore recommends configuring the two-tier change order configuration setting on the Funding tool.
  4. Click Update.
