Create a Change Event from an RFI
Note
If you want to add the 'Revenue ROM' column to your project's budget view to show the Revenue Rough Order of Magnitude estimate associated with your change event, see Add the Change Event Columns to Budget View (Including Revenue ROM).Objective
To create a change event from an RFI.
Background
Creating a change event allows you to prepare for the cost of a change before it becomes an actual cost. For example, if one of your project's subcontractors discovers a discrepancy and reports that it will result in additional costs, you can create an RFI to gather more information from the subcontractor about the discrepancy. After obtaining that information, you then determine that the discrepancy has additional costs and scope changes that will require a change order to your contracts. The first step in the change management process is to create a change event. To save time and link the change event to the RFI, you can create a change event directly from the RFI.
