Add Equipment Entries to a Daily Log (Android)

Objective

To add Equipment entries on an Android mobile device. 

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions:
    • 'Standard' or 'Admin' level permissions on the project's Daily Log tool.
  • Additional Information:
    • Manage any equipment added to this section by viewing the Equipment list on the Equipment page of the Admin tool.
      Note: Requires 'Admin' permissions on the Admin tool.
  • This action can be performed in offline mode (i.e. when an active network connection is not available on your mobile device). Tasks performed in offline mode will be synced with Procore once a network connection has been reestablished. 

Steps

  1. Navigate to the Daily Log tool using the Procore app on an Android mobile device.
  2. Tap the date to select the calendar day for which you want to create a new entry.
  3. Tap icon-plus-quick-create-mobile2.png to create a new entry.
  4. Tap Equipment.
  5. Tap into the following fields to enter the relevant information:
    • Equipment Name: Tap the Equipment Name field. Enter the name of the equipment.

    • # Hours Operating: Enter the number of hours the equipment was operating.

    • # Hours Idle: Enter the number of hours the equipment was idle.

    • Cost Code: Tap the Cost Code field. Select from the drop-down menu the cost code associated with the entry. 

    • LocationSelect a location from the menu. Tap a tiered location to pull up any sub locations. If configured, you can tap Add to add a new location.

    • Inspected: By default, the Inspected button will be set to 'No.' Toggle the Inspected button to 'Yes' if the equipment was inspected that day.

    • Inspection Time: Enter the time the equipment was inspected by selecting the hour and minutes from the menu.

    • Notes: Enter any notes that may describe the entry.

    • Attachments: Tap on the following options to add photo, video, or file attachments to the entry:

      • Camera: Use your mobile device's camera to take a photo or video that is automatically added to the entry once you exit the camera. Or, before exiting, tap the photo to mark it up.  Optional photo and video functionality in the Procore camera tool include the following: 
        • Tap the time stamp icon to to turn time stamp on or off.
        • Tap the geotag button to turn geotagging off or on.
          Note: The geotag button will only appear if you have Location Services off, or if you have not accepted location tracking permissions on your device. Geotag information cannot be viewed in Procore, but it can be referenced in the file's properties after downloading the photo to a computer.
        • Tap the video icon to switch to video to record a video for up to 15 seconds.
          • Tap the microphone icon to turn your device's microphone on or off while in video mode.
        • After taking a photo, tap the photo twice to enter markup mode.
      • Photos: Tap to select photos from your device's Gallery OR from Procore's Photos tool in the project.
        • Photos from Procore
          1. Tap the album that contains the photo(s) you want to include on the entry.
            OR
            Tap Create New Album to add a new photo album to the project.
            Note: You will need 'Standard' or 'Admin' permissions to the Daily Log tool to create an album.
          2. Tap the photo(s) you want to attach.
          3. Tap Done.
        • Photos from Device:
          1. Tap the photo(s) you want to add to the entry.
          2. Tap Done.
      • Files: Tap on a file from your mobile device to automatically attach it to the entry.  
  6. Tap Save.
