What are Procore Zones?

Answer Edit section

Procore Zones Overview

With Procore Application Zones and Data Zones, Procore now offers customers more choices for where their Project Data is primarily stored.

Application Zones Edit section

Procore Application Zones is the cloud infrastructure platform that provides both application storage and processing for application data, and also delivers the overall user experience.

Procore currently offers Application Zones in the following regions:

  • United Kingdom (UK)

Data Zones Edit section

A Data Zone, or File Storage Location, provides storage for file data, including all documents, photos, drawings, specifications, models, and other attachments.

See Where and how does Procore store customer information? for a list of available storage locations.

Will Project Data be stored or processed only in the region I select? Edit section

Project Data includes documents, photos, drawings, specifications, models, budgets, invoices, timesheets, forms, reports, schedules, daily logs, and other file attachments.

Project Data and any related backup data will be stored in the region the customer selects.  However, there are purposes for which project data may need to be transferred outside of the selected region. Those exceptions include:

  • Any data entered into Estimating tools, including Bid Board and Cost Catalog, will be stored and processed in the US.

  • Procore's authentication systems are global, including identity and user account details.

  • The process of exporting multiple records in a project into a PDF may temporarily transfer project data to the US.

  • When installing applications from the Procore Marketplace, customers should contact their marketplace partners directly for information on data storace and processing requirements.

  • Other purposes, such as for logging, support, maintenance, authentication, notifications, or security purposes.

We have legal mechanisms in place for the transfer of personal data.  For details, please see the Procore Customer Data Processing Addendum.

Are there any limitations to using an Application Zone? Edit section

Yes. Some caveats and limitations apply to Application Zones outside of the United States at this time:

  • If your company has an existing Procore account that is not in the desired Application Zone, you will need to have another Procore company account, or "instance," created for you to leverage a specific Application Zone. Contact your Procore point of contact to learn more.

  • The Monthly Sandbox and Development Sandbox are unavailable in Application Zones outside of the United States.
