Create an Instruction from an RFI

PREVIOUS CURRENT LESSON (17 of 30) NEXT

  •  An instruction is a formal instruction sent from the head contractor that contains directives for contractors working on a project. To give project teams the ability to create instructions after an RFI is closed, users with the appropriate permissions to both the Instructions and RFIs tools can create instructions directly from the RFIs tool.
  • The Create Instruction button is only visible and available for use when viewing an RFI. It is NOT available when an RFI is in edit mode.
  • The Create Instruction button is also only visible to users who meet the following criteria:
    • 'Standard' or 'Admin' level permission on the Instructions tool.
      OR
    • Permission to view the RFI from which you will be creating an instruction.  For example, if you been granted 'Read Only' level permission on the RFIs tool and the RFI has been marked 'Private', you must be a member of the RFI's distribution list to have permission to view the RFI.
