View Submittal PDF Attachments

Objective

To view submittal PDF attachment in Procore.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permission:
    • To view PDF attachments and their markups on submittals not marked 'Private':
      • 'Read Only' or higher on the project's Submittals tool.
  • Additional Information:
    • Only markups added in Procore will be included in the 'Markup List'.
    • Each page of the submittal attachment has its own separate 'Markup List'.
    • If two or more users are viewing or marking up a submittal attachment at the same time:
      • The other users' initials display at the top of the PDF viewer.
      • Markups added by all users are saved automatically, but the markups do not automatically appear in the PDF viewer in real-time for other users viewing the attachment. To see another user's markups, refresh the page

Steps

View the Submittal Attachment

  1. Navigate to the project's Submittals tool. 
  2. Click View next to the submittal with the PDF attachment you want to view.

    This table lists the features and available keyboard shortcuts to use when viewing submittal PDF attachments. Other features and keyboard shortcuts are available when reviewing submittal PDF attachments. See Review Submittal PDF Attachments.

    N/A Select Click to select or move a markup on the page. To select multiple markups, hold SHIFT on your keyboard and click on each markup you want to select as part of a group. Press V Press V

    For temporary panning, hold the SPACEBAR.

    1 The page must be in 'Select' mode. Click the  icon or press V on your keyboard.

    2 Scrolling left and right is only available when the page view in the document viewer is narrower than the actual page width.

View the Submittal's Information in the PDF Viewer

  1. Navigate to the project's Submittals tool. 
  2. Click View next to the submittal with the PDF attachment you want to view.
  3. In the 'Submittal Workflow' table, click Open next to the PDF attachment you want to view.
     Tip
    Current attachments are indicated by a 'Current' label in the 'Version' column.
  4. Click the icon-info2.png icon to open the 'Submittal Info' panel.

     Note

    The 'Submittal Info' includes the following information:

    • Title
    • Spec Section
    • Number
    • Rev (Revision Number)
    • Type
    • Description

View the List of Markups in the PDF Viewer

  1. Navigate to the project's Submittals tool. 
  2. Click View next to the submittal with the PDF attachment you want to view the markups for.
  3. In the 'Submittal Workflow' table, click Open next to the PDF attachment you want to view markups for.
     Tip
    Current attachments are indicated by a 'Current' label in the 'Version' column.
  4. Open the page navigation menu by pressing ALT + T (or OPTION + T) on your keyboard or by clicking the angle bracket tab.

  5. Navigate to a page with markups. Pages with markups are indicated by the  icon in the page navigation menu.

  6. Click the  icon to open the 'Markup List' panel with a summary of markups added to the page you are viewing in the attachment.

     Note

    The 'Markup List' includes the following information:

    • The symbol for the type of markup that was added.
    • The name of the user who added the markup.
    • The company of the user who added the markup.
    • The date and time the markup was added.
  7. Click on an item in the 'Markup List' to highlight where it was added on the page.
    OR
    Click on a markup on the page to highlight its entry in the 'Markup List'.
  8. Navigate to other pages in the attachment to view the 'Markup List' for each page.
