Generate a QR Code for a Submittal

To generate a Quality Response (QR) code using the Project level Submittals tool.

A Quality Response (QR) code is a two-dimensional bar code that you can associate with a submittal item in Procore. Generating a QR code and then printing it out to place on location at a construction site makes it easier for responsible team members to link submittal information that might be stored in Procore.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions: 'Read-only' level permissions or above on the Submittals tool.
  • The Enable QR Codes On Submittal Items and Custom PDF Templates feature must be enabled on the project.
(Note: To enable this feature on your project, your company's Procore Administrator can submit an email request to your Procore Point of contact or to support@procore.com. A Procore representative will work with your company's Procore Administrator to enable this feature on the project.)
  • Procore generates one (1) unique QR code per submittal. A new code is not generated for revisions. You can click the Generate QR Code button at any time and Procore always displays the same code for the submittal in a separate browser window.
  • Important! A QR code scanner app will not recognize these QR codes. You must scan the QR code with one of Procore's mobile apps.

  1. Navigate to the project's Submittals tool.
  2. In the Submittals log, locate the desired submittal. Then click View
  3. In the right navigation bar, click Generate QR Code
(Note: If this button is not visible and available, this feature has not been enabled on the project.
The system opens a page with a printable QR code in a separate browser window.)

  4. Use your web browser's controls to print this page for use on the construction site. Your web browser may also give you the option to export a copy of the page to the PDF format.
(Note: If you click the Generate QR Code button in the future, the printable QR code will always be the same for the submittal and any subsequent revisions. Procore generates one unique code per submittal.)
