Navigate the Modernized Punch List View (Beta)

This is a beta callout. Used to explain features that are currently in beta.

The Modernized Punch List View transforms the Punch List tool from a static log into a dynamic, customizable command center. By combining advanced filtering, grouping, and flexible layout customization, you can tailor the list view to fit your exact business needs and streamline everyday workflows.

Key Features

  • Customize the list layout by selecting, sorting, filtering, and rearranging columns.

  • Save and recall your favorite combinations of columns, filters, sorting, and grouping to eliminate the need for repetitive setup.

  • Clean up data and manage lists faster with bulk editing options.

Beta Participation

To enable the modern grid experience:

  1. Navigate to the project's Punch List tool.

  2. Toggle the Smart Grid Table switch to ON.

Things to Consider

Required Permissions for Saved Views: Show / Hide Details

  • To create, edit, view, or delete Personal Views: 'Read Only' or higher level permissions to the Project level Punch List tool.

  • To create, edit, or delete Project Views: 'Admin' level permissions to the Project level Punch List tool.

  • To create, edit, or delete Company Views: 'Admin' level permissions to the Company level Admin tool.

  • To view Project or Company Views: 'Read Only' level permissions or higher to the Punch List tool.

General Tool Permissions: Show / Hide Details

  • The Smart Grid respects all of your existing tool permissions:

    • Admin: Can configure settings, create, edit, delete punch lists, and apply all bulk actions.

    • Standard: Can view and edit assigned punch lists, and utilize personalized saved views.

    • Read-Only: Can view the punch list and apply filters/sorting for their own active session, but cannot make changes.

Customize Columns and Custom Fields
  1. Click the Configure gearIcon Ag Grid Table Filter Menuicon on the top-right toolbar.

  2. Select Small, Medium, or Large under the 'Row Height' section to adjust the table display height.

  3. Toggle the switch to blue next to any field name to show it as a column in the grid, or toggle it off to hide it

  4. Enter a keyword in the Search Columns box to search for specific standard or custom fields.

  5. Drag the handle next to any column name to adjust its position.

  6. Click X to close the settings.

Filter and Search Punch List Items
  1. Click Filters to expand the filter panel.

  2. Select your filter criteria across available options (e.g., Status, Ball In Court, Assignee Name, Due Date).

  3. Enter keywords into the Search box to filter by titles and descriptions.

  4. Click Apply.

  5. (Optional) Click Clear All Filters to reset your criteria.

Group and Sort Items
  1. Click any column header to sort items in ascending or descending order.

  2. Hold Shift and click a second column header to apply multi-level sorting.

Bulk Edit Punch List Items
  1. Mark the checkboxes next to the items you want to modify, or mark the header checkbox to select all visible items.

  2. Click the EditIcon Edit2icon in the top toolbar.

  3. Update the desired standard or custom field values.

  4. Click Save.

Create a Saved View
  1. Apply your desired filters, column configurations, groupings, and sorting options.

  2. Click Views.

  3. Click Create in the 'Saved Views' panel

  4. Enter a name in the Name field.

  5. Enter a summary in the Description field.

  6. Select Personal View, Project View, or Company View from the View Level drop-down menu.

  7. Click Create.

Manage Saved Views
  1. Click Views.

  2. Expand Company Views, Project Views, or Personal Views in the panel.

  3. Select any saved view from the list to load it.

  4. (Optional) Click the linkIcon Link icon next to a saved view to copy a shareable link.

  5. (Optional) Click the vertical ellipsis Icon Ellipsis Verticalicon next to a saved view and select Edit or Delete.
