Create Note Entries

To create Notes entries in the project's Daily Log tool.

Background

The Notes section can be used to add additional information for the day. This is a good place to enter miscellaneous issues or items that don't necessarily fit in any of the other sections or tools provided. You can also mark notes as 'issues' and run dedicated reports on them.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions:
    • To create entries:
      • 'Standard' or 'Admin' permissions on the project's Daily Log tool.
        OR
    • To create pending entries as a collaborator:
  • Additional Information:
    • Certain fields in the Notes log can be configured as required, optional, or hidden in the Company level Admin tool. See Configure Daily Log Fieldsets

Steps

  1. Navigate to the project's Daily Log tool.
  2. Scroll to the Notes section.
  3. Enter the following information:
    Tip! Certain fields in the Notes log can be configured as required, optional, or hidden in the Company level Admin tool. See Create New Configurable Fieldsets.
    • Issue?: Mark this checkbox if the note being added is an issue affecting the project.

    • LocationSelect or enter a location from the Location drop-down menu.
      Note: You have the option to select an existing location from the list, or you can add a multi-tiered location to an item.

    • Comments: Enter any comments that may be needed to further describe the entry.

    • Attachments: Attach any additional files to the entry. Click Attach File(s) and then drag-and-drop a file from your computer to the Drag and Drop your File(s) area, or click Upload Files to select a file from your computer. Once you save your item, users will be able to view the attachment in Procore's viewer or download the attachment. 

  4. Click Create.
