Enable Copilot

Open Beta

The open beta for Procore Copilot is gradually being released over the next few weeks. It will be available to customers in the United States using Procore in English who license the required toolset.

To learn if the beta is available to your company, visit your Company Admin tool and look for the option to sign the beta agreement. Then, follow the steps in Enable Copilot to start participating.

 Caution
Like all AI tools, Copilot's answers might not be entirely accurate. You must evaluate any recommendations or suggestions against your own reasonable policies and procedures before taking action. We recommend human review of any AI-generated outputs.

Objective

Learn how to activate the Copilot open beta for your company and enable Copilot on projects.

Background

Copilot is Procore's AI assistant tool. It can respond to questions asked in a conversational style, like the kind of question you might ask a coworker. Copilot is currently in beta, so you must sign a beta agreement and enable Copilot on your desired projects to gain access.

Things to Consider

  • The open beta for Copilot is available to customers in the United States using Procore in English.
  • If you are using Procore in the United States in English, but do not see the option to opt in to the beta, it is likely that your company does not license the tool package required to be eligible to participate in the beta at this time.
  • You must sign the beta agreement to be able to enable Copilot on projects.
  • If you would like to disable the option to join the beta for your company, please contact your Procore point of contact.

Steps

1. Sign the Beta Agreement For Your Company:

  1. Navigate to the Company level Admin tool.
  2. Under the Tool Settings menu, click Copilot.
  3. Mark the checkbox and click Accept to sign the Beta Agreement.

2. Enable Copilot on a Project:

Note: Copilot must be enabled project-by-project. Bulk activation of the feature is not available at this time.

  1. Navigate to the project where you want to enable Copilot.
  2. Select the Admin tool from the tools menu.
    1. If your company is enrolled in the Consolidated Tool Settings Beta:
      1. Click Tool Settings.
      2. Toggle the switch next to Copilot in the list to the 'On' position.
    2. If your company is NOT enrolled in the Consolidated Tool Settings Beta:
      1. Click Active Tools.
      2. Mark the checkbox next to Copilot.
      3. Click Update.

3. Give Project Users Permission to Use Copilot

 Notes
  • All project users with 'Admin' level permissions to the Project Directory tool will have permissions to Copilot enabled by default when it's activated on that project.
  • Assign 'Standard' level permissions to users who are not project administrators to allow them to interact with the feature.
  • 'Read Only' and 'Admin' permissions are not available for Copilot at this time.
  • Copilot respects individual user permissions when answering questions about project data. Users with permissions to Copilot can only receive answers about project data to which they have access.
  1. Assign 'Standard' level permissions to Copilot by updating users' project permission templates. See Edit a Project Permissions Template for detailed instructions.
