Background

Assist is Procore's AI-driven assistant. Assist can quickly find project information, build a custom 360 report, or explain how to do something in the Procore application. This FAQ explains what data Assist can and cannot access at this time. Procore regularly enhances Assist and updates this article to reflect the latest capabilities.

Answer

Assist can answer your questions and create reports based on information and attachments from the tools in the chart below. It can also explain how to do something in Procore, based on information from Procore's support site.

Assist provides the best answers when it finds text-based information in Procore, either within a field in Procore or an attached document.

It can read text from the following file types: .pdf

Permissions

Existing user permissions always apply when using Assist. For example, if a user does not have access to the RFIs tool at all (based on the settings in the permissions tool), and they ask Assist a question related to a specific RFI, then they would not get any answer based on RFIs.

Limitations

Procore is continually expanding its capabilities, but Assist cannot currently do the following:

Access markups. Assist cannot access markups on items like drawings or photos. For example, if the paint color choice that was approved on a submittal is only noted in a markup on an image but not explicitly stated in the submittal response in written text, Assist won't be able to tell you which paint color was approved. Some multimedia project information is not yet available to Assist.
Determine priority. For example, asking "Which outstanding submittals should I address first?" isn't effective because Assist cannot determine priority.

Assist can access data from the following tools in your Procore project. It may use its reports or answer skill, depending on your request.
