Clone a Change Event

Objective

To clone a change event so you do not need to manually recreate it. 

Background

If you are creating a new change event that is similar to an existing one, you can clone the existing one and then make updates to the new one. This saves time by preventing you from having to enter repetitive data. 

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions:
    • 'Admin' level permissions on the project's Change Events tool.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the project's Change Events tool.
  2. Locate the change event using one of these options:
    • Click the Detail tab. Then click the change event link that you want to work with.
      OR
    • Click the Summary tab. Then click the View button.  
  3. Click the Clone button.
    You will be taken to the cloned change event with the following information copied over from the first change event:
    • Type
    • Description
    • Attachments
    • Title
    • Scope
    • Change Reason
    • Cost Code
    • Cost Type
    • Description
    • Vendor
    • Contract
