Configure Models

Background

Configure which BIM models link to your Asset Register directly within the Assets tool. Instead searching through unrelated files in the Documents or Document Management tools, Assets Administrators can configure a curated list for Asset users, controlling active models and version history, and monitoring extracted asset counts.

Things to Consider

• Required User Permissions

• Supported file formats include rvt, ifc, nwc, and nwd.

• Model files must be uploaded to the Project Documents or Document Management tools.

• Only models configured in Asset tool settings are available for extraction and selection in the Project level Assets tool.

Prerequisites

• 3D Models must be uploaded to the Project Documents or Document Management tools.
  Note: Procore uses a new model processor. Older models must be reprocessed or re-uploaded and processed again in the Project level Documents or Document Management tool.

Steps

1. Navigate to the Project level Assets tool.

2. Click the configure settings icon.

3. Click the Models tab.

4. Click Link Model.

5. Select Documents or Document Management.

6. Select the models.

7. Click Link.
