Create Observations from a Model (iOS)
Objective
To quickly create observations from a model using an iOS mobile device.
Background
If differences arise between the coordinated model and what is being installed in the field, you can choose to create an observation so that the issue can be tracked in the project's Observations tool. If you want to create a coordination issue instead, see Create Coordination Issues from a Model (iOS).
Things to Consider
- Required User Permissions:
- 'Read Only' or 'Admin' permissions to the Models tool.
AND - 'Standard' or 'Admin' permissions to the Observations tool.
- 'Read Only' or 'Admin' permissions to the Models tool.
- Additional Information:
- If you are working in offline mode, the observation will be uploaded when a network connection is reestablished.
Prerequisites
- At least one model must have been published to the Procore project. See Publish a Model to Procore.
- The Observations tool must be active on the project.
Steps
- Navigate to the Models tool on the Procore app using an iOS mobile device.
- Tap the model you want to open.
Note: If you have not downloaded the model to your device yet, tap Download. See Download or Remove Models from a Device (iOS). - Locate the area of the model that you want to create an observation for.
- Tap the Create icon.
- Tap Observation.
- Choose whether you want to create the observation using a template:
- If templates are set up for the Observations tool, select a template from the list.
OR - If you do not want to use a template, tap + Create Without Template.
- If templates are set up for the Observations tool, select a template from the list.
- Select an observation type.
- Fill out the relevant information for the observation. See Create an Observation (iOS).
Note: A snapshot of the area of the model is automatically added to the observation. - Click Create.
Note: The observation is automatically created and added to the project's Observations tool.
