Inspection SOPs (KAST)

  • The Inspections Tool allows KAST project teams to create comprehensive checklists to capture all of the requirements associated with the different type of inspections that occur during the lifecycle of construction project. KAST has created company level quality control and safety templates for use on a project-by-project basis. Project teams may also create a unique template for each inspection or choose to modify, add to, or edit a company template.

  • It is critical to create tiered Locations at the start of a project in order to leverage the power of the Inspections Tool. It is critical to include a Location when creating an Inspection in order to track Area / Floor / Room #  affected in order to effectively track and resolve an issue(s)

  • It is best practice to take photos and provide comments while performing an inspection. Passing and Failing do not tell a full story. TAKE PHOTOS AND ADD COMMENTS.  This also applies to responding to, or closing, inspection items.  Do not close an inspection item without a comment and a photo or other documentation.

  • Email inspections to all affected parties when an Inspections is complete. It is particularly important to include all parties that are responsible for failed items.

  • Ensure all failed items are resolved and documented prior to closing an inspection item or full inspection.
