Create Inspection Entries

Also available on

Objective

To create Inspection entries in the project's Daily Log tool.

Background

The Inspections section tracks inspections made by third-party inspectors that occur throughout the project. Use this section if you do not have Inspections on your project.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions: 'Standard' or 'Admin' on the project's Daily Log tool.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the project's Daily Log tool.
  2. Scroll to the Inspection section.
  3. Enter the following information:
    • #: This uneditable field counts the number of entries in a section (e.g. the first entry created will be # 1, and the second entry will be # 2).

    • Log Date: This field specifies the date that the daily log entry applies to. This field will only display when viewing multiple days in the Daily Log tool and is uneditable.

    • Start: Enter the starting time by selecting the hours and minutes from the drop-down menus.

    • End: Enter the ending time by selecting the hours and minutes from the drop-down menus.

    • Inspection Type: Enter the type of inspection that was performed.

    • Inspecting Entity: Enter the type of inspector that performed the inspection.

    • Inspector Name: Enter the name of the person who performed the inspection.

    • LocationSelect or enter a location from the Location drop-down menu.
Note: You have the option to select an existing location from the list, or you can add a multi-tiered location to an item.

    • Area: (Optional) Enter the area within the specified location that was inspected.

    • Comments: Enter any comments that may be needed to further describe the entry.

    • Attachments: Attach any additional files to the entry. Click Attach File(s) to select a file from your computer, or drag-and-drop the file from your computer to the gray area designated by Drag and Drop your File(s). Once you save your item, users will be able to click the attachment and view the attachment in Procore's document viewer.

  4. Click Create.
