Move a Coordination Issue to an Observation

Objective

To move a coordination issue to an observation.

Background

Coordination issues are sometimes marked as closed if the issue will be resolved later in the field. Instead of closing the issue completely, you can move it to an observation, which closes the issue within the Coordination Issues tool and creates a new observation that can be tracked by field teams in the Observations tool. This helps bridge the gap between field and design management teams, and ensures that all issues are being tracked and resolved. It also creates a process for signing off on models.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions:
    • 'Admin' permissions on the project's Coordination Issues tool.
      AND
    • 'Standard' or 'Admin' permissions on the Observations tool.
  • Additional Information:
    • The coordination issue must be in the 'Open' or 'Released' status to be moved to an observation.
    • The Title, Description, Location, and Attachments fields are automatically populated based off the coordination issue.
