Share Document Management Files in a Correspondence Item (iOS)

The Document Management tool is available in select countries. It is not yet available for Procore accounts in the United States. For more information, please reach out to your Procore point of contact.

Objective

To share documents from the Document Management tool by attaching them to a correspondence item on the Procore iOS app.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions:
    • 'Standard' or 'Admin' level permissions to the project's Document Management tool.
      AND
    • 'Standard' or 'Admin' level permissions on the item's correspondence type OR 'Read Only' level permissions on the item's correspondence type with the 'Create Item' granular permission enabled on the permissions template.
  • Additional Information:
    • Make sure users are added to the necessary permission groups in the Document Management tool so that they can access the files that you attach. See View and Manage Document Permissions.
    • Users must log in to Procore to view or download Document Management attachments.
    • On mobile, you can attach files directly to a correspondence item, but you cannot attach files to user responses and custom fields within a correspondence item.

Steps

  1. Open the Procore app on an iOS mobile device. 
  2. Tap the project's Correspondence tool.
  3. Find the correspondence item that you want to add to and tap Edit.
    Optional: Create a new correspondence item.  
  4. In the 'Attachments' section, tap the Document Management icon-attachment.png icon.  
  5. Find the document you want to share by searching across or within a saved view. See Search for and Filter Documents in the Document Management Tool (iOS).
  6. Tap the document's file name. 
  7. Tap Apply. The document is now shown as a tile in the Attachments section of the correspondence item.
  8. Tap Save.
