KAST Standard Cost Codes
Creating Initial Budgets
When you are ready to create the initial project budget, email a copy of your final GMP to procorehelp@kastbuild.com. Strategic Services will:
- Code the GMP Estimate
- Create any required new codes (company standard or project-specific)
- Establish Owner Allowance codes and descriptions (OA#xx - [DESCRIPTION])
- identify grouping for GCs, GRs, COW, OA, etc., using the Procore Budget Attributes
- Send for Lead PM & PX review
- Upon approval from Lead PM & PX, enter the GMP budget into Procore
- Strategic Services will then group GCs, GRs, COW, OA, etc. within Procore
Lead PM will then:
- Lock the Procore Budget when appropriate (typically upon Owner Client approval of GMP budget),
- "Send to ERP" to sync to Sage Intacct for Accounting
Adding Codes to Budget
There are two conditions where teams may add codes to the budget and separate processes for each condition, outlined below.
-
Adding Codes from the KAST Standard List
- For all projects started after January 1, 2025, the KAST Standard Cost Codes are populated in Procore and match the standard cost code list in Sage Intacct.
- A Cost Code is required to Issue a Commitment, but a budget dollar amount is not required.
- However, a budget amount equal to, or greater than, the commitment amount IS REQUIRED to Send to ERP
- Steps to add a KAST Standard Code not already in the budget (click here for steps with screenshots)
- Navigate to Project Budget Tool
- Click "Create Budget Line Item"
- Click "Add Line," Choose code from the dropdown, and click "Create."
- Choose Cost Type, and ensure "Concatenated" is selected (do not re-name or the ERP link will break)
-
Adding New Codes NOT on the KAST Standard List
- Email procorehelp@kastbuild.com & cc your corporate project accountant
