Samia Ebrahiem
BioAn Architectural Designer with more than 20 years experience in design and sustainable construction, Dr. Samia Ebrahiem has been a professor for 15 years at her architecture school, Menoufiya University in Egypt, where she obtained her bachelor, master’s and doctoral degrees in Architecture. Her work has also taken her to the University of Calgary where she did post-doctoral research on urban planning for the Faculty of Environmental Design. Samia joined Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in 2014 as an instructor for the Bachelor of Science, Construction Management program. At SAIT, Dr. Ebrahiem teaches students about sustainable construction, environmental and safety construction management and total building performance, preparing them to enter an industry currently evolving to focus more on environmental sustainability. Her current research interest is focused on sustainable construction and smart cities, as well as best management applications.
