Edit a Prime Contract


To edit a project's prime contract

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permission:
    • 'Admin' permission on the project's Prime Contracts tool.
  • Additional Information:
    • Some fields cannot be edited when items are in the 'Approved' status. For example, you cannot edit a Schedule of Values (SOV) on an owner invoice or Prime Contract Change Order (PCCO) is already in the  'Approved' status.


  1. Navigate to the project's Prime Contracts tool.
  2. In the General tab, click Edit.
  3. Modify the fields as appropriate.
  4. Click Save.

Edit & Rearrange SOV Line Items 

You can rearrange SOV line items to organize your prime contract if you add in line items at a later date.

  1. Navigate to the project's Prime Contracts tool.
  2. Locate the prime contract to edit. Then click View.
  3. Click Schedule of Values.
  4. Next to 'Schedule of Values', click Edit.
  5. Choose from the following options:
    • Add line items to the SOV. Select a Cost Code, enter a Description, choose a Cost Type, Tax Code, and enter an Amount. Then click Add. 
    • Edit existing SOV line items. Click the BLUE caret in the top-right corner of the Cost Code, Description, Cost Type, Tax Code, or Contract Amount Cell. Then change the existing value.
    • Rearrange line items on the SOV. To change the position of an SOV line item, grab a line item by the hamburger (≡) button and the use a drag-and-drop operation to move the line item into the desired position.
      Note: Tax Code fields only appear if the tax codes feature is enabled. See How can I use tax codes on a project?
  6. Click Save.
