Configure Columns for an Estimate

Objective

To configure columns for an Estimate on the Estimating tab.

Steps

Configure Columns for the Standard View

  1. Navigate to the Bid Board or Portfolio Planning tool and select the project.
    OR
    Navigate to the project's Estimating tool.
  2. Click the Estimating tab.
  3. Click the table settings icon-ag-grid-table-filter-menu.png icon.
  4. Move the toggles icon-toggle-on.png ON or icon-toggle-off.png OFF to show or hide a column. 
    The following fields are available:
    • Budget Code
    • Unit Cost ($)
    • Waste (%)
    • Subtotal Item Cost ($)
    • Margin (%)
    • Unit Sales ($)
    • Subtotal Item Sales ($)
    • Profit ($)
    • Unit Labor (Hours)
    • Difficulty Factor
    • Total Labor (Hours)
    • Total Labor Cost ($)
    • Total Cost ($)
    • Total Cost (%)
    • Total Sales ($)
    • Notes
    • Tax
  5. Optional: Mark the checkbox if you want to apply the same column visibility settings to all estimates for the project.
  6. Click Save Changes.

Configure Columns with Flexible Table Layout

 In Beta

To enable flexible table layout, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Bid Board or Portfolio Planning tool and select the project.
    OR
    Navigate to the project's Estimating tool.
  2. Click the Estimating tab.
  3. Click the vertical ellipsis icon-ellipsis-vertical.pngon the Estimate. 
  4. Move the toggle for Flexible Table Layout to the icon-toggle-on.png ON position.
  1. Navigate to the Bid Board or Portfolio Planning tool and select the project.
    OR
    Navigate to the project's Estimating tool.
  2. Click the Estimating tab.
  3. Configure your columns in the following ways:
    • Column Order
      1. Click and hold the column header. Then move it to desired location using a drag and drop operation.
    • Column Sort
      1. Click the column header to sort by that column.
      2. Click again to switch between icon-ag-grid-sort-ascending.png ascending ascending or icon-ag-grid-sort-descending.png descending order.
    • Hide or Show Data
       Tip
      To hide columns, you can also click the column header and drag it up and off of the table.
       
      1. Click the table settings icon-ag-grid-table-filter-menu.png icon to configure what data is displayed in the table.
      2. Move the toggles icon-toggle-on.png ON or icon-toggle-off.png OFF to show or hide a column. The following fields are available:
        • Description
        • Notes
        • Budget Code
        • Cost Type
        • Bidding
        • Measurement
          • Quantity
          • Units of Measure (UoM)
          • Takeoff Type
        • Unit Cost ($)
        • Waste (%)
        • Subtotal Item Cost ($)
        • Margin (%)
        • Unit Sales ($)
        • Subtotal Item Sales ($)
        • Unit Labor
          • Unit Labor Time
          • Units of Measure (UoM)
        • Difficulty Factor
        • Total Labor (Hours)
        • Total Labor Cost ($)
        • Total Cost ($)
        • Total Cost (%)
        • Total Sales ($)
        • Profit ($)
        • Taxable
        • Tag
        • Attachment
        • Takeoff Color
        • Cost Catalog Item
      3. Optional: Mark the checkbox if you want to apply the same column visibility settings to all estimates for the project.
      4. Click Save Changes.
    • Resize Columns
      1. Hover over the column divider.
      2. Click the divider and drag the column to the desired width.
    • Other Column Settings
      1. Click the vertical ellipsis icon-ellipsis-vertical.pngfor the column. Then select from the following options:
        • Pin Column: Click to pin the column to a specific side or remove the pin. 
          • Pin Left
          • Pin Right
          • No Pin
        • Autosize This Column: Click to automatically adjust the size of this column. 
        • Autosize All Columns: Click to automatically adjust the size of all column. 
        • Hide Column: Click to hide the column from the table.
        • Reset Columns: Click to rest the columns to the default settings.
