Delete or Inactivate a Project in Resource Planning
Objective
To delete a project in Resource Planning
Background
You can delete or inactivate projects in Resource Planning if they are no longer needed. Projects that are deleted in Resource Planning will be marked as inactive in Procore. In general, Procore recommends inactivating projects instead of deleting them, so that you can retain any data associated with the project.
Note
Projects can be created in either Procore or Resource Planning, but your company must choose one as your system of record. Your Procore point of contact guides your company through this decision based on your setup.
This article is for customers who have Resource Planning as their system of record for project creation and management.
Things to Consider
- Required User Permissions
- Deactivating or deleting a project will end any current assignments and requests, and will delete any future assignments and requests.
- Deleted or inactive projects are removed from the Assignments board.
- Inactive projects remain in Resource Planning for record keeping purposes.
- Inactive projects cannot have new resource assignments or resource requests created or existing requests and assignments edited.
- If data syncs are enabled:
- Projects that are marked as inactive or deleted in Resource Planning are marked as 'Inactive' in Procore.
