Link Sub Assets to a Parent Asset
Background
You can link the sub assets within a parent asset so that all parts of the asset are accounted for, along with their parent and child relationships.
Asset Type Hierarchy Example
-
HVAC (Level 1)
-
Air Handling Unit (Level 2)
-
Supply Fan (Level 3)
-
-
Chiller (Level 2)
-
Boiler (Level 2)
-
You could link all Supply Fans to the parent Air Handling Unit. And all Air Handling Units, Chillers, and Boilers to the parent HVAC system.
However, you cannot link a Supply Fan to a HVAC parent, nor can you link the Supply Fan to a Boiler parent. You also cannot link Air Handling Units, Chillers, or Boilers as parents of each other because they are at the same level in the hierarchy.
Things to Consider
-
Edits made at the Project level are updated in the Company level Assets tool.
