Definitions

  • ECI (Energy of Connected Ideas): Celebrating creativity and collaboration and the way those connected ideas energize and move the organization forward.
  • P-File: A potential project that is in bidding/estimating stage, but not yet awarded. Every project begins as a P-File. They are managed in the Preconstruction (Precon) Department.
  • SMART Ideas (Saving Money and Reducing Time): Value Engineering (VE) ideas to save the client money on the project. 
  • PDO (Potential Design Option) - A trackable list of potential cost changes on a project.
  • PISER (Problems Identified So Everyone Remembers): Shared lessons learned on projects so they aren't repeated.
  • BECAUSE (see Groups/Teams below)
  • BIFF (see Groups/Teams below)
  • SWD (Special Work Directive): Work labor on a project that was not part of the original contract.
  • Field PO: Field cost on a project that was not part of the original contract.
  • Phase Code – ‘Cost Code’ or specific accounting code for Subcontract, PO, Invoice, GCs to be charged to
  • Pre/Post Mortem –Recap on all the things that could go well/bad on a project (pre), and or what did go well/bad after completion (post)
  • Red Folder – Misc. net 30/45 day invoice (due weekly)
  • SOV (Schedule of Values) - An itemized breakdown of the cost divided by phase code, material, or contractor.

  • Voicemail – The IT Department should provide you with initial steps to setup and access your voicemail. If you have issues, please contact them at support@brinkmannconstructors.com to create a ticket.

  • Training is held weekly using a conference room and teleconference systems.  Please contact the Learning and Development Department at Learning@BrinkmannConstructors.com for futher details.
