Safety Committee Operations

Objective

The Safety Committee’s Objective is to provide support to the safety director for handling safety issues and trainings within the company, as well as provide feedback as to what trends and issues we are seeing on our current projects

Background

The safety committee meets monthly, with the safety director heading the committee.

Things to Consider

Safety committee members can be utilized to help when the safety director is spread too thin or out of the office.  Committee members are selected based on their interest in joining, new members can be added at any time.

Steps

Meetings are held on a monthly basis, typically the 3rd Thursday of the month, 6:30 AM. Meeting agendas and minutes are distributed by the Safety Director and are saved in the Safety One Drive.  Topics include but are not limited to upcoming trainings, reoccurring issues being seen on sites, new rules/program implementation.

The committee can also be used as a resource if someone outside the committee is dealing with an issue or has questions regarding safety.  It is encouraged that items can be brought up to the safety committee for review or discussion at any time.
