Koester Expectations - Inspections

Department: Field OPs

Topic: Koester Expectations: Procore Inspections

Objective

Clarify expectations regarding how, when and why Procore Inspections should be used

Background

The Inspections Tool within Procore allows us to customize inspections for each job that will help ensure quality and reduce rework on projects.  Koester has developed a 3 tier system for inspections, Tier 1 are inspections that are Mandatory on every project (if scope is applicable).  Tier 2 are not mandatory, but can still be beneficial to the project.  Tier 3 are also not mandatory, and may still benefit the project.  Determining which Tier 2 and 3 inspections should be used on a job should be determined by the project team.

Things to Consider

All templates within Procore are a standard template, they should be modified at the project level to fit the specs of that project.  The more this is done, the more successful the use of inspections will be to ensuring quality work.

Prerequisites

Procore- Creating Inspections

Steps

  1. When creating a new project in Procore, inspection templates will need to be imported to the job.  Start by importing the following:

  1. Koester Job Site Safety Inspection Report (JSSIR)

  1. Jobsite Safety Audit

  1. Koester Monthly Job Audit

  1. All Tier 1 Inspections

  1. Footing Pre-Pour

  1. Site Grading Fill

  1. Underslab Piping

  1. SOG Pre-Pour

  1. Metal Framing

  1. Structural CMU

  1. Wood Framing

  1. Commercial Kitchen

  1. Paving Pre-Pour

  1. Pre-Drywall

  1. Any Tier 2 or 3 Inspections that would benefit the Project.  These can be identified at the QC Project Startup Meeting, as well as throughout the project if the need arises

  1. These Inspections should be discussed at the weekly team meetings, and assigned to Koester Superintendents/Foreman onsite, with dates that match the project schedule.  An inspection type my need to be preformed more than once (footings broken into multiple pours, framing broken into each floor, etc)
