Lessons Learned

Department: Operations

Topic: Lessons Learned

Process: Koester Expectations: Lessons Learned

Objective

To create, reference, and share lessons learned company wide.

Background

Sharing the lessons we learn so that others may learn from them is instrumental to personal and organizational growth. It can be intimidating to publicize a mistake, but everyone makes mistakes, and mistakes are life’s greatest lessons. Why not share those lessons so that others may benefit from them? We learn and we grow, together. “When you stop learning, you start dying.” – Albert Einstein

Things to Consider

Lessons are being learned every day throughout every stage of every project. It is important to recognize that most, if not all, lessons we learn can benefit someone else at some point in time. Remember that experience levels amongst different positions range from zero days to several decades. Taking the time to document and share our lessons with peers saves costly, preventable mistakes.

Steps

1.       Find and click the Lessons Learned link in the Procore Training Center. This will open Airtable.
