Equipment Maintenance – Cold Weather
Department: Tool Department
Topic: Site Operations
Process: Equipment Maintenance – Cold Weather
Objective
The procedures necessary to prepare equipment for winter conditions, preventing damage and ensuring operational efficiency.
Thing to Consider
Prevent ice and corrosion: Cold weather and exposure to salt and water/dirt-mud can cause ice to build up and lead to corrosion, which can damage your equipment and become a safety hazard.
Ensure equipment is ready for use: Winterizing prepares your equipment for use during the winter or for storage over the cold months.
Maximize equipment performance: Winterizing can help your equipment perform at its best.
