Company Phone Usage

Objective

Company phones that are handed out help communicate with others within the company, business associates, and contractors through voice, messages, and emails.

Company Phone Usage

·         Company phones should be used for company business only.

·         Employees in possession of company phones are expected to protect it from loss, damage or theft.  Upon resignation or termination of employment or at any time on request the employee may /will be asked to produce the phone for return.

·         While in the office phone should be turned to Silent Mode or be placed on vibrate mode.

·         Employees are expected to follow all local, state, and federal laws regarding company phones.

·         Employees are expected to use hands-free devices if phone calls need to be made.

·         Reading or sending text messages while driving is strictly prohibited.  Safety is the number one concern while driving and usage of a cell phone.   You are encouraged not to use a cell phone while driving.  If possible, pull over to a safe area to have a conversation only if you feel it is necessary.

·         Employees charged with a traffic violation resulting from their phone's use will be responsible for fines, tickets, or liabilities.

·         The employee’s voicemail must be set up, including an appropriate Koester greeting.

o    Your voicemailbox should not be so full that you cannot receive incoming messages.

·         The device will come with:

o                   Protective case, this must remain on the phone in case of future damage to phone,

o                       Screen protecter

o                       Charger cord

o                           Wall plugin  

·         If the device becomes damaged or you are having issues, notify the Tool Department as soon as possible.  Warranties sometimes can be used if the phone is still under its warranty date.

·         The Tool Department will evaluate whether the damage can be repaired or replaced.

o   The company will repair/replace it once in a two-year period.

o   If damaged more than once in a two-year period. The employee with be charged for the cost of the damage.

·         If used in the wrong manner, the company retains the right to monitor or revoke the physical device, accessories, or data at the company's discretion.

o   No streaming of any sort for personal entertainment.

·         If the employee places any passcode on the device the Tool Department /IT Dept. are to be notified and told the passcode number.

·         Passwords are NOT to be changed at any time.
