Getting Started with Egnyte (KAST)
Summary
At KAST we utilize Egnyte for project file storage. New users receive an account activation email from Egnyte. Please activate your account when you receive the Egnyte email before doing anything else.
Egnyte is an internet-based file storage system that you can access from your computer just like any files stored on your hard drive or desktop that also allows for file sharing with outside users via shared files or sending of links.
Contact techserv@kastbuild.com for internal Egnyte support.
Getting Started
Account Creation
In the coming days you will receive, or may have already received, an account activation email from Egnyte. Please take a moment to click the link and create a password in order to activate your account. We suggest using the same password that you use for Procore so that it's easy for you to remember. Initially you will only see your private folder.
Software Install
Install the "Egnyte Connect Desktop App" (link above) to your computer. This may have been installed by KAST IT. You may need to change the drive from "Z" to "Y". Please see instructions in the image at the bottom of the email.
Request training
Once you have activated your account, please review this tutorial, and email techserv@kastbuild.com if you require additional training or assistance. we will schedule a brief training to make sure you understand how Egnyte works, and have the proper software installed. Prior to this training, please do not make changes to the KAST standard folder structure.
