Edit an Estimate in Procore Estimating
Objective
To edit an existing estimate for a project in the standalone Procore Estimating application.
Things to Consider
- Required User Permissions:
- 'Estimator' user role or higher. See What are the different 'user roles' in Procore Estimating?
- Additional Information:
- Any items on the Estimating page that are highlighted in orange can be edited.
- Only one user can edit an estimate at a time. If another user at your company is already working on the same estimate, you will see a banner indicating you are in 'read only' mode. However, you can create or edit another estimate for the project, or choose to click 'Kick User Out' if necessary.
Steps
- Log in to Procore Estimating and select the relevant project.
- Click Estimating.
- Click the estimate that you want to edit.
- See the sections below for available options:
EDIT AMOUNTS ON THE ESTIMATE
- Locate the cost item that you want to edit amounts for.
- Click into the field that you want to update.
- Enter the updated information.
- Click out of the field to save your changes.
Reorder Rows
- Locate the cost item that you want to move and hover over its row.
- Click and drag the row to a new position in the table.
Edit Details for a Cost Catalog Item
Note: You can add a cost code by clicking Select in the 'Cost Code' column for a line item. To edit an existing cost code, click on the cost code.
- Locate the catalog item that you want to edit.
- Click the vertical ellipsis icon.
- Click Edit Item.
- Edit information as necessary.
- When you are ready to save your changes, click Save.
Replace a Cost Catalog Item
- Locate the catalog item that you want to replace.
- Click the vertical ellipsis icon.
- Click Replace Item.
- Select a different catalog item.
- Click Select to replace the item on the estimate.
ADD ADDITIONAL NOTES
- Scroll to 'Notes' and click the arrow to expand the section.
- The following sections are available by default to add notes to:
- Scope of Work
- Included
- Excluded
- Project Notes
- Click into a field to add notes as necessary.
- The following actions are also available:
- To delete a section, click the Delete icon.
- To add a new line, click Add New.
- To add from your library, click Browse Library.
