This page lists notable changes for the Project level Direct Costs tool in 2016. 

Removed Delete Option After Direct Cost Line Item Syncs With ERP Integration (12/12/2016)

Updated the Direct Costs tool to remove the Delete icon and button after a direct cost line item is synced with an integrated ERP system (e.g., QuickBooks or Sage 300 CRE). This ensures that the direct cost line item cannot be deleted. 

1MB File Size Limit For CSV Imports (8/10/2016)

Updated the Direct Costs tool to add a 1MB file size limit for CSV imports. Users are now prompted by a popup message that CSV files cannot be larger than 1MB. The file will also fail to upload.

Added Employee Column To Direct Costs Tool (7/20/2016)

Updated the Direct Costs tool to add an 'Employee' column to the 'Summary by Cost Code' view.

Updated CSV Import Confirmation Page In Direct Costs Tool (7/1/2016)

Updated the Direct Costs tool's CSV Import Confirmation page to display: Quantity (precision to one (1) decimal), Unit Cost (precision to four (4) decimals), Amount (precision to two (2) decimals), the full Cost Code and Description, the full Cost Type (rather than the abbreviation), and to display an error message if a Cost Type is entered without a Cost Code.

Added Alert Message To CSV Importer For Direct Costs Tool (7/1/2016)

Updated the Direct Costs CSV Importer to display an alert message that reads "Your file cannot be uploaded because it does not use the correct headers." if the CSV uploaded had incorrect column headers. The CSV template holds the correct headers."

Updated CSV Import Column Requirement For Direct Costs Tool (6/25/2016)

Updated the CSV importer for the project's Direct Costs tool so it now requires an 'Employee Email' rather than an 'Employee' name. For instructions, see Import Direct Costs.

Added CSV Import Failure Message To Direct Costs Tool (6/8/2016)

Updated the project's Direct Costs tool to add an popup message to alert users when a CSV import fails.

Disabled Import Button When No Direct Costs CSV Import File Chosen (6/2/2016)

Updated the Direct Costs tool to change the labeling on the Import Direct Costs area in the right pane. Now, an orange asterisk (*) appears next to the 'No file chosen' label to indicate it is a required field. In addition, the 'Import' button is grayed-out and unavailable until the user chooses a file to import. This prevents users from clicking the Import button without the required CSV file.

Improved CSV Imports and Error Messaging In Confirmation Page (5/20/2016)

Released changes to the Direct Costs tool to improve the performance of the Direct Costs CSV Importer. Also updated the messaging that appears in the Error column on the Import Confirmation page.

Added Payroll Type To Direct Costs Tools (4/7/2016)

Updated the Direct Costs tool to add 'Payroll' as a Type selection. Also rearranged the fields on the create/edit pages and changed the name of the 'Purchaser' field to 'Employee."

Added Status Column To Direct Costs Tool (4/5/2016)

Updated the Direct Costs tool to add a Status column on the Direct Costs Summary and Summary By Cost Code pages.

Added "Terms" Drop-Down List To Direct Costs Tool (3/23/2016)

Updated the Project level Direct Costs tool to add the Terms drop-down list to provide users with a standard selection of payment terms: Due on Receipt, Net 10, Net 15, Net 30, Net 45, Net 60, Net 90, and Net 120. Users also have the ability to add custom terms by typing an entry directly in the drop-down list. This entry will be available as a selection to other project users. 

Added Notification Message For CSV Imports To Direct Costs Tool (3/17/2016)

Updated the Project level Direct Costs tool to add a notification message to the Direct Costs CSV import tool to alert users when they input cost codes without entering a specific type.

Added Emails Sub Tab For Expenses In Direct Costs Tool (3/17/2016)

Updated the Project level Direct Costs tool to add the Emails sub tab and functionality to Expenses. Users with 'Admin' and 'Standard' level permissions will be able to send and receive emails. 'Read-Only' users will be able to view public emails and send inbound emails.

Now Allowing Sage-Integrated Projects To Enable The Direct Costs Tool (3/17/2016)

Updated Procore to allow the Direct Costs tab to be enabled on Sage-integrated projects. If an ERP-integrated project makes the Direct Costs tab active, the Budget tool will now always show values from that tab. It will override any Company level setting, which includes the "Read Only from Sage" configuration setting. An email message with the subject line "New Feature: Direct Costs + Sage ERP" has already been sent to Procore employees which includes detail about edge cases.

Now Supporting Internationalized CSV Imports (3/4/2016)

Updated the Project level Direct Costs tool to support internationalized CSV imports. 

Updated Direct Costs Invoices With Related Items Subtab And Permissions (2/23/2016)

Updated the Project level Direct Costs tool to add the Related Items subtab to Direct Costs Invoices. Users with 'Admin' level permissions are permitted to add a related item. 'Standard' and 'Read Only' users are permitted view access to related items.

Updated Direct Costs Expenses With Related Items Subtab And Permissions (2/23/2016)

Updated the Project level Direct Costs tool to add the Related Items subtab to Direct Costs Expenses. Users with 'Admin' level permissions to Direct Costs are permitted to add related items. 'Standard' and 'Read Only' users are permitted view access to related items.

Added Training Videos to Direct Costs Tool (2/22/2016)

Added the "Using Direct Costs" Training Video to the Summary page of the Project level Direct Costs tool. This video will only display when the project does not have any Direct Costs. However, a link to training video will always be available in the bottom right sidebar.

Direct Costs Available for Public Use (2/15/2016)

The Direct Costs tool is now available for use in Procore.
