What can I ask Copilot?

Open Beta

The open beta for Procore Copilot is available to customers in the United States using Procore in English who license the required toolset. Follow the steps in Enable Copilot to start participating.

If you are using Procore in the United States in English, but do not see the option to opt in to the beta, it is likely because your company does not license the tool package required to be eligible to participate in the beta at this time.

Customers using Procore in English in Canada, the United Kingdom and Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand are eligible to participate in a Closed Beta. Contact your Procore point of contact to request access to the closed beta.

Answer

Copilot is Procore's AI assistant tool. Copilot can respond to questions asked in a conversational style, like the kind of question you might ask a coworker. It can find answers to your questions based on information from the following tools, as well as certain types of files attached to those items:

  • RFIs
  • Submittals
  • Drawings
  • Specifications
  • Documents

It can also answer questions about how to do something in Procore, based on information from Procore's support site.

You can ask Copilot questions like:

  • What is the RFI response for ceiling height?
  • What are the installation instructions for external lighting?
  • How do I edit a submittal?
  • Is the submittal for paint color approved yet?

Copilot can't answer these types of questions yet:

  • Quantities/Aggregation of information
    Examples:
    • Can you show me a list of RFIs with something in common (like subject matter, status, or assignee)?
    • How many open RFIs are there?
  • Affect on other unsupported tool data
    Examples:
    • Can you tell me how this item's status could affect the schedule?
    • How does this item's schedule change impact the budget?
  • Priority
    Examples:
    • Can you tell me which RFIs are most important to address?
    • Which outstanding submittals should I address first?

Copilot can't answer questions based on multimedia project information yet:

Copilot provides the best answers when the relevant information in Procore is explicitly stated in text, either within a field in Procore, or within an attached document.

For example, if the paint color choice that was approved on a submittal is noted in a markup on an image, but not explicitly stated in the submittal response in written text, Copilot won't be able to tell you which paint color was approved. It can't yet consider the text markup in the context of the image the same way we can as humans.

Copilot can answer questions based on the following information:
