Create Notes About People in Resource Planning
Objective
To create notes about people managed in Resource Planning.
Background
For projects using Resource Planning, you can manage your team using the People List in Resource Planning. When you have information you want to remember about individuals on your team, you can leave notes on their details page. By default, notes are visibile to anyone with access to the person's notes. However, notes can be marked private so that only the creator of the note can view it.
Things to Consider
- Required User Permissions
- By default, notes can be viewed by anyone with permissions to 'View People Notes'.
- Notes that are marked 'private' can only be viewed by the note's creator.
- If data syncs are enabled:
- Notes do NOT sync to the Company level Directory
Prerequisites
Steps
- Navigate to the Company level Resource Planning tool.
- Click People and select People List.
- Locate the user record to modify. Then click their name.
- Locate the 'Notes' section and click into the text box to Create new Note.
- Enter your note.
- Optional: Click the attachment icon to add an attachment.
- Optional: Mark the Private Note checkbox if only you should be able to view the note.
- Click Create.
