Assignments allow you to manage your resources by assigning resources to projects. Assignments can also be used for forecasting and planning future work. You can keep these assignments private until you are ready to notify the assignee or other members of your team.
You can bulk create assignments with the new Assignments Gantt. You can also make assignments to fill resource requests. See Fill a Resource Request.
You can manage user visibility of assignments with assignment request statuses. See Configure Assignment Request Statuses for Resource Planning.
Linked users
that are given resource assignments are automatically added to the project.
Equipment Show/Hide Details
When equipment is assigned a Resource Assignment from the Assignment Gantt (Beta), it is automatically added to the project.
Timesheets Show/Hide Details
If creating a Timesheet for a user with an assignment, their start and stop times are automatically filled in to the timesheet based on their assignment in Resource Planning.
Data syncing between Resource Planning and Procore is required. See What is Data Syncing for Resource Planning?
Assignees must be 'Users' in Procore, and not 'Contacts'. See What people information is synced between Resource Planning and the Procore Company Directory?
To create requests and assignments for equipment, your project must have the following configurations:
The Equipment tool must be enabled for your project. See Add and Remove Project Tools.
Equipment records must be added to your project. See Add or Remove Equipment from Projects.
Data sync must be enabled for projects. See What is data syncing for Resource Planning?
You can create resource assignments from the following places:
Navigate to the Company level Resource Planning tool.
Click Assignments and select Boards (Beta).
Click the resource bench
icon to open a list of your resources.
From the 'Bench', drag and drop the resource on to the project.
Enter the 'Details' information.
Show/Hide Fields
Project. The project the assignment is for.
Category. The category.
Subcategory. The subcategory.
Labor. The people you are assigning.
Note: If you select multiple people, it will create an assignment for each one.
Equipment. The equipment you are assigning.
Note: If you select multiple pieces of equipment, it will create an assignment for each one.
Enter the 'Schedule' information.
Show/Hide Fields
Start Date. The date the work assignment starts.
End Date. The date the work assignment ends.
Time or Allocation.
Moving the 'Set Assignment by Start Week and Duration' toggle to the ON
position allows you to enter the Start Time and End Time for the assignment.
Overtime. If an assignment allows for overtime, You can the 'Overtime' toggle to the ON
position.
Overtime Rates. The overtime rate for each day of the week.
For example, overtime on a weekday may be 1.5 for time and a half, and 2 for double time on the weekend.
Pay Split. How many hours a person must work to initiate overtime.
Overtime. After the standard wage, how many hours in a shift that are considered overtime.
Standard. How many hours in a shift are considered the standard wage.
Unpaid. How many hours in a shift are unpaid.
Moving the 'Set Assignment by Allocation' toggle to the ON
position allows you to enter the Percent of the person's time that is Allocated for the request.
Work Days. A checkmark indicates a work day for the request.
Status. The assignment's status.
Enter the Additional Information. See Configure Custom Fields for Resource Planning.
Optional: Enter Scope of Work to describe the scope of work.
Optional: Enter Assignment Instructions to provide additional instructions.
Optional: Enter Comments.
Create the Assignment.
Click Create to create the assignment.
Click Create and Alert to create the assignment and send an Assignment Alert to the assignee.
On the Assignments Boards, you can create a resource assignment the in following ways:
The 'New' Button
Drag and Drop from the Resource Bench
Navigate to the Company level Resource Planning tool.
Click Assignments and select Assignments Boards.
Click New.
Complete the assignment information. Show/Hide Fields
Project. The project that the assignment is for.
Person. The assignee.
Category. The category for the assignment.
Subcategory. The subcategory for the assignment.
Status. The assignment status.
Working Days. The working days needed for the Assignment.
Tags. The tags for the assignment. See Configure Tags for Resource Planning.
Start Day. The date the work assignment starts.
Date. The specific start date for the assignment.
Project Start. If the assignment starts on the same date as the project, select the project start date.
End Day. The date the work assignment ends.

Weeks. How many weeks the assignment is for.
Project End. If the assignment ends on the same date as the project, select the project end date.
Allocation Type. Whether the Allocation Type is in Hours of Percent. See What is a Resource Allocation Type?

Percent. If you selected 'Percent', enter the percent allocated to the assignment
Overtime. Mark this checkbox to allow overtime for any time that goes over the allotted paid hours per shift.
Click Save to save the assignment.

Navigate to the Company level Resource Planning tool.
Click Assignments and select Assignments Boards.
Locate your 'Resource Bench'. See What is the 'resource bench' in Resource Planning?
Locate the person you want to assign. See Search, Sort, and Filter People on the Assignments Boards.
From the 'Resource Bench', use a drag-and-drop operation to move the assignee's name to the project. See What is the 'resource bench' in Resource Planning?

Category. The category for the assignment.

Note: Users given assignments this way are also added to the project in the company's Directory.
Navigate to the Company level Resource Planning tool.
Click Assignments and select Gantt (Beta).
To assign a resource, you can click the start date on the Gantt chart and drag to the end date.
You can do this in either the Projects or Resources view. 
On the list, right click the project, category or subcategory for the assignment and select New Assignment.
Note: You can also hover over the project, category, or subcategory and click the vertical ellipsis
and select New Request.
Fill out the 'Details' information.
