What are Super Private correspondence types?

Answer

A super private correspondence is a feature in Procore that provides an additional layer of privacy for correspondence items. The key features of a super private correspondence include:

Who can view a Super Private correspondence item?

When an item is marked as both 'Super Private' and 'Private', only the individuals below can see it.

 Important
  • These access levels apply to the Procore web application, Procore for Mobile (Android & iOS), Procore Extracts, Procore Webhooks, and the Procore API.
  • Correspondence marked 'Super Private' will not appear in Single Tool Reporting, 360 Reporting, or Procore Analytics. See Correspondence: Specific Data Access Permissions for Source Tools
Role Access Level
Creator Can view items with any status
Assignees Can view items with 'Open' or 'Closed' status
Distribution Members Can view items with 'Open' or 'Closed' status
'Received From' Field Anyone added to the field can view items with 'Open' or 'Closed' statuses
 Notes

'Admin' level permissions on the Correspondence tool alone are insufficient for viewing a 'Private' item when 'Super Private' is turned ON. An exception exists if the 'View Private Items Accessible to Users within Same Company' granular permission is enabled on a user's permissions template. When the conditions below are met, this gives additional 'Admin' users viewing access to correspondence with an 'Open' or 'Closed' status:

  • Users at the same company as the item's Creator.
  • Users at the same company as the Assignee.
  • Users at the same company as a Distribution Member.
  • Users at the same company as someone in the 'Received From' field.

Enabling Super Private Correspondence

The 'Super Private' setting can be enabled for specific correspondence types at the company level.

  • For customers in Australia and New Zealand, this feature is turned on by default for all correspondence types.
  • For Procore customers in all other regions, this optional feature can be configured with the help of a Procore point of contact.
