Shell Model - Create

  1. Revit --> New File
  2. Manage Links --> link in structural
    1. Must link any model as Origin-to-Origin unless you need to relocate the NWCs and/or CADs produced from the Shell model
  3. Plan view
    1. Collaborate --> Copy/Monitor-->select link-->click on linked model
    2. Copy-->check "multiple"-->select all gridlines --> click "finish" next to "multiple"
    3. Click green "finish" checkmark
  4. Elevation View
    1. Select all existing levels --> delete
    2. Collaborate --> Copy/Monitor-->select link-->click on linked model
    3. Copy-->check "multiple"-->select all levels--> click "finish" next to "multiple"
    4. Click green "finish" checkmark
  5. Add Floorplans from original file to new shell file
    1. View --> Plan Views --> Floor Plan
    2. Select all views --> click "ok"
  6. Save Your Work!
    1. 400.BIM & CAD\420.Current 3D\__KAST\RVT
    2. [PROJ ABBV] KAST Shell
  7. Import Arch Model
    1. Manage links --> link in architectural
  8. Create offset grids (if necessary)
    1. Name new gridlines [BASE] -[DIST]
    2. e.g. "A(-35')"
  9. Create Level Views
    1. Select marker on floor to create view & floor above
  10. Save Your Work!

Optional

  1. Import Coord Zones PDF
    1. Open PDF
    2. Save As --> .tiff
    3. Navigate to matching Elevation view
    4. Insert --> image--> navigate to image--> select --> open
    5. Scale pdf overall paper width/height
    6. Click on image, enter width/height of pdf
    7. Move image to align with model
  2. Import Markers (Optional as-needed)
    1. Copy Arch & Struct markers to project
      1. 400.BIM & CAD\420.Current 3D\_Markers
    2. Plan View --> Insert --> Load Family --> navigate to markers --> select files --> click open
    3. Select marker(s) --> Ctrl-C --> click "paste"  --> align to selected levels
