Dependencies define the sequence of work by linking predecessor and successor tasks. Procore supports four dependency types: Finish-to-Start (FS), Start-to-Finish (SF), Start-to-Start (SS), and Finish-to-Finish (FF). Managing these links ensures that your schedule accurately reflects project workflows and that the critical path is calculated correctly.
Required User Permissions: 'Standard' level permissions or higher on the project's Scheduling tool.
Note: In an editable schedule (Option 2), Procore dynamically updates the logic chain in real time as dependencies are changed.
You can link tasks using three different methods:
Drawing on the Gantt Chart: Click the circle at the end of a predecessor taskbar and drag the connection line to the beginning of the successor taskbar.
Connect and Sequence (Bulk):
Mark the checkboxes for the tasks in the table in the order they should occur.
Right-click any of the selected tasks and select Connect and Sequence.
Manual Entry: Click into the Predecessors column for a task and type the row number of its predecessor.
Locate the dependency arrow connecting two tasks on the Gantt chart.
Double-click the dependency arrow.
Enter the number of days in the Lag field.
Click Save.
Double-click the dependency arrow on the Gantt chart that you want to remove.
Review the predecessor and successor information to confirm it is the correct link.
Click Delete.
