Edit an Estimate
Objective
To edit an existing estimate in the Estimating, Bid Board, or Portfolio Planning tools.
Steps
- Navigate to the Bid Board or Portfolio Planning tool and select the project.
OR
Navigate to the project's Estimating tool.
- Click the Estimating tab.
- Click the estimate that you want to edit.
- See the sections below for available options:
Add Additional Notes
- Scroll to 'Notes' and click the arrow to expand the section.
- The following sections are available by default to add notes to:
- Click into a field to add notes as necessary.
- The following actions are also available:
- To delete a section, click the Delete icon.
- To add a new line, click Add New.
- To add from your library, click Browse Library.
Add Adjustments to an Estimate
Reorder Rows
- Locate the cost item that you want to move and hover over its row.
- Click and drag the row to a new position in the table.
Edit Details for a Cost Catalog Item
Note: You can add a budget code by clicking Select in the 'Budget Code' column for a line item. To edit an existing budget code, click on the budget code.
- Locate the catalog item that you want to edit.
Note: You can edit the Description field in line.
- Click the vertical ellipsis
icon.
- Click Edit Item.
- Edit information as necessary.
- When you are ready to save your changes, click Save.
Replace a Cost Catalog Item
- Locate the catalog item that you want to replace.
- Click the vertical ellipsis
icon.
- Click Replace Item.
- Select a different catalog item.
- Click Select to replace the item on the estimate.
Reset a Quantity
If you edited the quantity in the estimate and want to reset to the takeoff quantity, follow these steps:
- Locate the catalog item that you want to reset.
- Click the vertical ellipsis
icon.
- Click Reset Quantity.
Bulk Reset Quantities
- Mark the checkboxes for the catalog items that you want to reset.
- Click Reset Quantities.
Reset a Budget Code
If you edited the budget code in the estimate and want to reset it to your company settings, follow these steps:
- Locate the catalog item that you want to replace.
- Click the vertical ellipsis
icon.
- Click Reset Budget Code.
Tip
For projects created in the Bid Board, click the Overview tab, then select Locked in the Estimate Pricing field. This locks the proposal's Estimate and Takeoff data, but you can still upload documents.
