To link photos to a drawing.
Things to Consider
- Required User Permissions:
- To add photos to a drawing, 'Read Only' or higher permissions on the project's Drawings tool AND 'Read Only' or higher permissions on the project's Photos tool.
Note: Users with 'Read Only' permissions to the Photos tool can only select photos that already exist in the Photos tool, while users with 'Standard' or 'Admin' permissions can also add new photos.
- To publish personal markups to the Published layer, 'Standard' or 'Admin' on the project's Drawings tool. See What is the difference between personal and published markups?
- Additional Information:
- Photos added to drawings will also appear in the Photos tool in a 'Photos from Drawings' album. The 'Origin' field on the photos will indicate when a photo was uploaded from the Drawings tool.
Note: Photos from a markup will only show in the 'Photos from Drawings' album if the markup has been published.
Steps
- Navigate to the project's Drawings tool.
- Click Open next to the drawing you want to mark up.
Note: You can also click Info next to the drawing, then click Open in Viewer / Markup.
- Click the Markup icon.
- Click the Pins icon on the markup toolbar.
Note: If you do not see 'Pins', another pin markup option (such as Punch, Issue, or Observations) may already be selected. Clicking any one of the pin options will expand the options to show Photos.
- Select the Photos icon from the Markup toolbar.
- Click on the drawing where you want to link photos.
- Select one of the following options:
- Upload Files from your Computer: You will be prompted to select photo files from your computer.
Note: Only the following file types can be uploaded to the Photos or Drawings tool: .jpg, .jpeg, .tif, .tiff, .gif, .png, .x-png, .bmp. The maximum file size of an uploaded photo is 2 MB.
- Select Photos from Procore: You will be prompted to select an album, and then select a photo from the selected album. You may also select all of the photos in that album by clicking Select All.
Note: If you do not have Photos as an active tool on your project, you will not be able to select photos from Procore. Similarly, if your team has not uploaded photos to the Photos tool on your project, you will not be able to select photos from Procore.
- Click Done to add the photos to the drawing in the selected place.
Note: You may move the camera icon around after you have added photos to your personal layer, but you may not move the icon once you've published the photos for everyone on the project to see on the published layer.
